Your Lie In April talks about a child prodigy named Kousei Arima. He is a popular human metronome for playing the piano with dedication and perfection.

A Silent Voice is a heartwarming tale starting with an elementary school boy Shouya Ishida who – only to beat his boredom – tries cruel ways to keep himself entertained. But, things get messy when her mother informs the Academy, and instead of taking the entire class under blame, all his friends blame Shouya and he is the only culprit in the end. After the incident, Shouka First schools and is left alone – even bullied and talks behind his back at times. 

After years of the incident, Shouya is in his third year of high school and is still influenced by his misbehavior. He is kind of desperate to meet Shouka and sincerely repent. So, he decides to go along with his instinct and meet her once again.

After apologizing, Shouka being a good girl forgives him and instead of parting ways, they start to meet again, talk more and eventually get closer.

She doesn’t know what to do with the kids since she can’t continue to live in the city – where anyone can see the kids aren’t human.

Soon enough, he is overweight and not able to fly back to his homeland. Therefore, he starts to live with Tamako’s family and becomes their community’s beloved mascot. 

On the other hand, we have the main protagonist of the story named Mochizou Ooji, who has feelings for Tamako but is currently hiding them. Their fathers, having the shops in front of each other, are mochi rivals.
