In this article, I’ll show you an easy and simple procedure on how to set up a poll in Zoom. Polling feature in Zoom meetings enable you to create single or multiple choice polling questions for your meetings. You can be able to launch the poll during your meeting and get the responses from your participants.

Zoom is one of the most prominent online audio and video conferencing application. It has been mainly used by schools, colleges, enterprises, small, medium, and large sized business organizations that allow you to virtually connect with your colleagues, teammates, etc.

How to Set Up a Poll in Zoom [Guide]

Zoom has a built-in polling tool which you can use to pose questions and get real-time feedback on their responses. In order to use the Zoom polling, you need to turn on the Polling feature from the settings.

Follow the steps mentioned below on how to set up a poll in Zoom;

1. Open Zoom on your device.
2. Navigate to Settings.
3. Click on In Meeting Basic.
4. Scroll down until you find the polling feature and enable the switch next to it. After doing this, you’ll be able to see the polling button and other controls at the bottom of your Zoom meeting screen.

You must schedule a meeting before you can create a poll. Once you’ve scheduled the Zoom meeting;

1. Go to the list of your upcoming meetings and find the meeting you’d like to add a poll questions to.
2. Click on the meeting topic and then scroll down, you’ll have to add a poll since you won’t have any poll listed.
3. Click on the add button and click on add a question.
4. Choose any single choice or multiple choice question and place all the answer choices in the space below.
5. Click on save to save your poll and your poll will show up in the list of polls.

How to Set up Poll During Zoom Meeting?

If you want to know how to launch a poll during a Zoom meeting, follow the steps below;

1. Click on the polling button in the Zoom meeting controls.
2. Select a poll and when you are ready, click on Launch poll.
3. Click End poll to close the question.
4. You can edit or delete polls at any time.

Once you’ve launched the poll, the top of your screen will turn green and a timer will show how long the question has been open. You can also see how the students have responded on the chart. If you want your students to know who they’ve responded, click on Share results.
