Btooom! starts with an unemployed and overall unsuccessful man – Ryouta Sakamoto living with his mother with only one achievement of being Japan’s top player in the infamous online video game named Btooom!

Everything seems to go on like usual for Ryouta until out of the blue, he finds himself stuck on an island with a mysterious small green crystal visible on his left hand with no memory as to how he got there. And he is also unaware of the fact that someone has decided to make his favorite game in reality with life or death as the only two escape routes.

To win, players are given a task to kill about seven of the other participants and take their green crystals to return home, with the help of a bag given to them filled with bombs called BIM.

Ryouta is allowed to embrace any type of violence and is forced to fight against others when it appears that the majority of the players are not as kind as him. By the end, he teams up with Himiko, another participant, and set on a mission to escape this game – also stepping nearer to the truth behind this life-and-death game.

Although Shirou defeats death and comes back to life, the same servant comes back to end his life and to save himself from the servant, Shirou summons a servant for himself named Saber.

Together, both Shirou and Saber participate in the Fifth Holy Grail War, a royal battle whose reward is nothing small but the great Holy Grail itself. Ahead of this shows the struggles of Shirou as he climbs up on the ladder to become a hero by enhancing the powers gifted to him by his foster father.

One day, while coming back after being defeated by one of the students in Goku uniforms, Ryuuko bumps into Senketsu who awakens after coming in contact with Ryuuko’s blood and ends up granting her extreme power. 

Along with the missing half invention and new powers from Senketsu, Ryuuko challenges the elite 4 in the hope to win over them, reach Satsuki, and unravel the secrets of her father’s murder.

The kids are taught to fight mercilessly from start to end without a glimpse of what the outer world looks like and they are to prove their existence only by fighting for their kind.

Meanwhile, Hiro, who is an aspiring pilot, has lost his self-confidence after failing a mastery test. He ditches the class’ graduation ceremony and runs into a forest lake only to bump into a suspicious girl with two horns on her head. The girl introduces herself by her codename – Zero Two, who belongs to a popular pilot called ‘Partner Killer’.

While Hiro is trying to figure out the situation with Zero Two, the lands of Plantation receive an attack from Klaxosaurs, forcing Zero Two to quickly pick her guard up since his partner is no more, she invites Hiro to fight in a duo against Klaxosaurs and the two easily defeat the enemy. Hiro thinks having a powerful partner will help in many ways while being unaware of its disadvantages. 

Darling in the Franxx is one of the best anime like Future Diary because similar to that anime, the female lead in this show is a total yandere character.

Decim is responsible to pass judgment on those who end up at his place by putting up a challenge of life-threatening games in front of them. These games are to decide if the player’s soul will go back into the world with the new life all will be sent in wide without any traces left.

The games included everything from bowling to darts wagering every player’s soul so that they can show their true colors. Although the method seems extreme, Decim still doesn’t bother changing his rules until a certain black-haired human arrives at the show.
